Jaime has studied, performed, and worked as a professional vocal coach for many years. Under her instruction, aspiring artists, studio and demo singers, and touring professionals have increased their range, honed their craft, and built a professional repertoire of skills. In addition to her professional singing career, she is an in-demand vocal, studio and stage performance teacher/coach for both Disney Records in Los Angeles and privately labels in Nashville and Los Angeles.
Jaime Babbitt is one of the best singers I’ve ever heard. She knows the artistic side of her profession, and in this book she shares everything the up-and-coming session singer or recording artist would ever need to know about getting started and about staying in the game.—Jimmy Webb, Grammy(R) award-winning, singer-songwriter/composer, and Chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
In 2011, Jaime wrote a book for Alfred Publishing Company, called “Working With your Voice.” The intention was to share her years of experience as a professional singer and vocal coach with beginners and professionals alike.
Bitten by the theater bug several years ago, Jaime played guitar and performed various roles in the 1960s Greenwich Village folk-musical drama, “Search: Paul Clayton”, which premiered at the Vineyard Playhouse on Martha’s Vineyard June-July 2014 and off-Broadway at the Triad/Stage 72 in New York City, April-May 2015. She is currently in the national touring company of “Old Jews Telling Jokes.”
Jaime continues to lecture at various universities (Middle Tennessee State University, The Academy of Contemporary Music in Oklahoma City), at NAMM in both Los Angeles and Nashville, at Nashville’s Blackbird Academy, and for NSAI‘s master classes and Advanced Songcamp in both Nashville and New York. Her articles have been featured in Electronic Musician, Music Connection and VoiceCouncil Magazine.
